Meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Julius Pranevičius

On April 14, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Julius Pranevičius.

During the meeting, Azerbaijan-Lithuania bilateral and multilateral relations, regional and international situation were discussed.

It was noted that there is a wide potential for the development of cooperation between the two countries in the economy, trade, energy security, humanitarian spheres, and the importance of the political consultation mechanism in terms of discussing the issues arising from this. The importance of developing partnership within the framework of multilateral platforms was emphasized.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the other party in detail about the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, efforts to combat the mine threat, as well as the progress of the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process. The challenges facing the advancement of the peace and normalization process were brought to the attention of the parties, including the ongoing territorial claims against our country in the Armenian constitution and a number of legislative acts, the rapid armament of Armenia, as well as the existence of the OSCE Minsk Group and relevant structures left over from the past conflict.

The meeting also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.

On the same day, political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Lithuania. The political consultations were led by Deputy Minister Fariz Rzayev from the Azerbaijani side and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lithuanian side, Julius Pranevičius.
